Mystic Lake Plans Major Red Cliff Bet

\Mystic Lake has announced plans to expand its gaming operation at Red Cliff Resort by building a new $600 million hotel and casino. The two-phase project is set to begin this fall and will create 1,000 construction jobs and 1,000 permanent jobs.

The expansion will include a 350-room hotel, a 120,000-square-foot casino, a variety of restaurants and bars, a spa, and meeting and event space. It is expected to be completed in 2020.

Red Cliff Resort is located on the south shore of scenic Mystic Lake in Prior Lake, Minnesota. It features two hotels, a golf course, and concert venue.

"This investment in Red Cliff Resort will create jobs, bring more visitors to our region, and generate revenue for our state," said Governor Mark Dayton. "I applaud Mystic Lake for their commitment to Minnesota and look forward to working with them as they move forward with this major project."

Mystic Lake is owned by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC), which also operates the nearby Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. The SMSC is the largest employer in Scott County with over 5,000 employees.

"This expansion reinforces our commitment to giving our guests the best possible experience when they visit Red Cliff Resort," said SMSC Chairman Stanley Crooks. "We're excited to get started on this project and look forward to welcoming even more people to our community in the years ahead."

1. Setup

To set up the game, each player takes two House cards and one General card. The remaining cards are placed in the middle of the table, stacked face down. Each player then draws four cards from the deck.

The player who most recently battled in war takes the first turn. Play then proceeds clockwise around the table.

1. The Play Phase

On a player's turn, they must play one card from their hand and then draw another card from the deck. There are six types of cards in Red Cliff: House, Goods, General, War, Tactics, and Strategy. Cards can be played either as Event or Command cards. In Event mode, a card is played and its effects are immediately carried out. In Command mode, a card is played and its effects are not carried out until the end of the turn when all players have had a chance to play their cards.

House cards represent your forces and can only be used as Event cards. Goods cards represent your resources and can be used as either Event or Command cards. General cards represent your commanders and can be used as either Event or Command cards. War cards represent your troops and can only be used as Event cards. When playing an Event card, you must also announce what type of card it is (Command or War). This is important for resolving conflicts later on in the game.

For example: If two players both play an event card that says " destroyed 2 of opponent's House", then each player destroys two Houses - not four Houses.
